The Gimrinsky tunnel is one of the longest tunnels in Russia, with a length of more than 4 km. It was opened in 2012 and runs under Mount Gimri, connecting the village of Gimri and the capital of Dagestan, Makhachkala, and significantly reducing the travel time between them.
The Gimrinskaya tower is a historical building in the village of Gimry. The tower was built in the 17th century. Its height is about 15 meters, the diameter of the base is about 5 meters. The tower is made of local stone and has thick walls. It was used as an observation post and for defensive purposes.
The Irganayskoye reservoir is a large artificial reservoir created for hydroelectric power plants in the 1980s. It is located on the Avarskoye Koisu River, the area is 18 km², the volume is 601 thousand km³. The mountainous location of the reservoir gives it a unique beauty and an important role in shaping the regional landscape.
Gunibskaya HPP is a hydroelectric power plant located on the Karakoysu River. It was commissioned in 1949 and is one of the oldest hydroelectric power plants in Russia. The HPP has a capacity of 17 MW and annually generates more than 50 million kWh of electricity.
Gamsutl ghost village is an abandoned village in Dagestan, located at an altitude of 1,700 meters above sea level. It was founded in the Middle Ages, and was abandoned by the last resident in 2015. The museum of local lore is one of the main attractions of Gunib, located in a historic building of the 19th century. The museum covers the history of Gunib from ancient times to the present day, contains various exhibits on the history and culture of Gunib, the life and activities of famous people associated with the village.
The monument «White Cranes» is a famous landmark of Gunib. Created in 1986, it represents sculptures of flying cranes. The monument is located on a high pedestal, symbolizing peace and freedom.
